OBITUARIES

WILLIAM E. BIGGAR
STETSON — William E. Biggar, 74, died October 17, 2006 at his residence. He was born April 2, 1932 at Portage, Prince Edward Island, Canada a son of Richard and Fanny (Waite) Biggar. He was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna and Dexter Shoe Company , retiring in 1994.

Bill was a member of the Country Music Association. He played the guitar and sang in country bands throughout the state, and started the Frankenstein Show with “Slim” Clark; a predecessor of the Stacey’s Fuel Mart Jamboree.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite of Stetson; a son John and wife Judy L. Biggar of Stetson; 2 daughters, Judy E. Biggar of New Mexico and Joan and husband Vaughn “Lee” Hersey of Virginia; a stepson, Bruce, Sr. and wife Sheila Henderson of Stetson; a stepdaughter, Wanda Torrey of Alaska; 1 brother, Ervin and wife Phyllis Biggar of PEI; 1 sister, Joan and husband Aggno Arsenault of New Brunswick; 4 granddaughters, Jackie, Jill, Jennifer, and Nicole; and 4 stepgrandsons, Adam, Alan, Bruce, Jr., and Chad. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Harry, Clarence, and Clifford Biggar and 2 sisters, Lila Arsenault and Helen MacDonald.

Friends may call 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, October 20th at Crosby & Neal; 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, with the Rev. David Ray, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson.
