OBITUARIES

WILLIAM KATKAVICH
ST. ALBANS, William Katkavich, 77, died February 7, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Togus. He was born April 27, 1926, in Pennsylvania, a son of John and Veronica (Jankauskas) Katkavich. He served as a gunners mate in the US Coast Guard during WWII, and for many years Bill managed a meat packing plant in Bloomfield, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his wife, Adalyn (Gawlas) Katkavich, and a son, David.

He is survived by a daughter and her husband, Lynn and Thomas Roach of St. Albans; daughter-in-law, Gloria Katkavich of Caribou; a son, Deandre Katkavich of St. Albans, who came to Bill late in life and was a source of great joy; a sister, Elizabeth Kish of Winthrop, New York; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street in Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Dexter, with the Rev. Father Raymond Morency officiating. Spring burial will be in the Maloon Cemetery in St. Albans.
