WILLIAM "BILLY" STEWART
CAMBRIDGE - William "Billy" Stewart, 53, died July 11, 2008, at a Bangor hospital due to complications of cancer. William was born Jan. 30, 1955, in Webster Plantation, the son of Robert L. and Ester (McAlpine) Stewart. "Billy" worked at Eastland Woolen Mill, Corinna and Vic Firth Co., Newport, for many years. He was a member of Cambridge Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his four-wheeler.

He is survived by his daughter, Katherine Stewart of Hartland; his mother, Esther Stewart of Cambridge; two brothers, Robert E. Stewart Sr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Cambridge and Dennis McAlpine of Corinna; two special grandchildren, Dylan and Austin; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Stewart; and a brother, Douglas N. Stewart.

Graveside services with fire department honors will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Cambridge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses. Donations may be sent to Esther Stewart, 309 Guilford Road, Cambridge, ME 04923.
