WILMA LEA MCFARLIN WOLFORD
Wilma Wolford ETNA, Wilma Lea McFarlin Wolford, 54, died December 10, 2005 at a Bangor hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 16, 1951, in Bangor, the daughter of Herbert and Delana (Jenne) Graves Sr. She graduated from Hermon High School class of 1969, and worked for Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna and Bauer Skate in Bangor. She was a member of the Dixmont Gold Crest Riders Snowmobile Club and enjoyed gardening, quilting, and kayaking with her sisters. In 1977 she received a kidney transplant, donated by her sister, Sandra Harris. She was a very kind, thoughtful, loving person always ready to lend a helping hand, and was a very strong link in the family chain.

She is survived by her mother, of Etna; her husband, Gary Wolford of Etna; a son, Jason McFarlin and his fiancé, Julie Harper both of Bangor; a stepson, William Wolford of Bangor; 3 brothers, Allen Graves and his wife, Respah of Etna, Ronald Graves of Detroit, and Michael Graves of Newport; 6 sisters, Ruth Appleby and her husband, Jerry of Florida, Sandra Harris and her husband, Bruce, and Marilyn Smith and her husband, Jay, all of Dixmont, Elizabeth Lane and her husband, Marvin, of Etna; her twin sister, Wanda Smith and her special friend, Floyd “Sandy” Sanborn, of Carmel, and Marsha McConnell and her husband, Scott, of Etna. She was a special aunt to 24 nieces and nephews, and 25 special great nieces and nephews. She was also survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, James and Kay Wolford of Florida, Patsy Powell, Claudia “Petie” Smith, and Dot Wolford all of Maryland. She was predeceased by her father Herbert Harrison Graves Sr. on Nov. 23, 2005. She was also predeceased by 2 brothers, Herbert Graves Jr., Calvin Graves Sr., and a brother-in-law, William Wolford.

Friends may call Tuesday, December 13, 2005 from 5 to 8 PM at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St. in Newport, where funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, with the Rev. Kenneth Graves officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Etna. Following the service on Wednesday, a gathering will be held for family and friends at the Dixmont Snowmobile Club.
