WINTON E. COBB Winton entered the armed service in 1943, serving for 30 months, 23 of which were in the European Theater. He was awarded the European Theater Ribbon with 5 battle stars, the Good Conduct Medal, victory medal, the Bronze Arrowhead for participating in the invasion of France on D-Day, and a unit citation. Before entering the service he was employed by National Biscuit Company of Bangor. Upon returning home from the war he was employed by Draper Corp. of Bangor, and later worked in construction. He leaves several cousins. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Lawn Cemetery in Guilford with the Rev. Dan Bollen officiating.
